August 5 - California: Sequoia National Park

Today, we saw a part of Sequoia National Park. Truthfully, this park and Kings Canyon are a hiker's paradise, as access is limited for vehicles. About 98% of the parks is complete wilderness with no road access.

In Sequoia, the about 1/3 of the roads have no RV access. So, we were particularly limited in what we could get to, but the bits that we could see were beautiful.

We hiked to the Sherman Tree, which is the largest living tree (in mass) on earth. The tree is 275 feet tall, with a base circumference of 102 feet! The trunk alone weighs over 2000 TONS - not including its branches, some over 6 feet around!

The Sherman Tree is just over Caden's right shoulder.

After our hike, we hit the road. It's on to San Diego!!
